Working it out: Prison Print Shop
Our MFD solution within the HMP Forest Bank Prison Print Shop is working well. Inmates have got to grips with the work and technology provided by Docutech/Office Tech Holdings easily with the help of their team leader, Gary Saxon.
Office Tech Holdings believes that everybody deserves a second chance.
The print shop from within the prison creates opportunity and skills. Offering inmates the chance of paid work while carrying out their sentence. The offenders will be trained in a variety of print and copy skills endorsed by Docutech, the best-managed print provider in the UK for two years running who are also Ricoh’s fastest-growing dealer.
Buying Local & Socially from us enables a sustainable model for our communities. We can help make a difference and Procure differently.
Equipping offenders for life after prison is one of the main challenges. Preparing them to find employment is a known way to reduce the likelihood of reoffending, as in addressing any social problems.

Over 1400 hours of training were delivered across the duration of the projects.
Over 200 days of work experience provided.
27 people participated across the duration of these projects.
7 people went on to find employment following their time on these projects.
Taking people on in this way requires a level of commitment, as people with multiple barriers need extra support, it’s not a simple route, however the results I’ve seen with the people I have offered work experience to and employed has been fantastic & very rewarding.
